Bollywood actress Shreya Dhanwanthary is freshly coming off psycho-thriller Chup: The Revenge of the Artist. The film, which also starred Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Deol in pivotal roles, released on September 23.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Shreya talked about how she convinced her family for pursuing acting, considering coming from a non-filmy background. “People had very different dreams for me,” she said. “After engineering, I was supposed to do the whole MBA-Ivy league rule. I was going to but this happened.”

She continued, “And dad didn’t understand it for a long time but mom was gung-ho about it for sure. But yeah, I had to prove it to them and I think my dad finally got convinced after Scam 1992 released. It took him 10 years to be like ‘Okay do it.’”

Speaking of Chup, the R Balki directorial has managed to receive a positive response from the audience as well as the critics.
