EXCLUSIVE: Mission Raniganj director Tinu Suresh Desai, “People watching the film on Netflix are feeling the same what others felt in theatres” : Bollywood News

Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Raniganj had generated positive word-of-mouth when it released in theatres in October this year. The film told the heroic tale of the late Jaswant Singh Gill in rescuing 65 miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj. The movie, where Akshay played Gill, is now available on Netflix.

Speaking about the film’s premiere on OTT, director Tinu Suresh Desai told Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “It feels good. It had got very good word-of-mouth and reviews from all over India. I had experienced happiness then and I am happy now too as Mission Raniganj has arrived on Netflix. I am getting messages and calls.”

The filmmaker added, “Because of busy lives, those who had missed the film are now watching it in their homes. They are feeling the same what people felt in theatres – emotions, thrill, drama, edge-of-the-seat moments. They have said that wherever they have seen this film, be it their living rooms or bedrooms, they have seen it at one go. They also had tears and felt the anxiety of what would happen next. There can be so many disturbances in our houses, yet they are giving such reactions, which makes me feel good.”

Deepshikha Deshmukh from Pooja Entertainment spoke exclusively about the banner’s relationship with Akshay Kumar, with whom they have done quite a few films in recent times. “I think Akshay sir is an absolute professional to work with,” she said. “He works on the minutest of details. It’s ab absolute pleasure seeing his working style. He is so disciplined. If your shift is from 7 am to 9 am, he reaches at 7 am sharp. So, for a producer, it’s an absolute delight to work with someone like Akshay Kumar ji.”

Mission Raniganj also starred Parineeti Chopra, Ravi Kishan and Kumud Mishra.
