Celebrity chef Ranveer Brar has been venturing into acting in recent times. He was seen in one of the stories in the anthology Modern Love Mumbai. It also starred Pratik Gandhi and was directed by Hansal Mehta. More recently, he played one of the pivotal roles in Mehta’s Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer movie The Buckingham Murders.
Brar will now be seen in the Prime Video web show Ma Ka Sum alongside Mona Singh. Sharing the show’s status, he told Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “It has already been shot. It’s currently in the post-production. It’s on Amazon (Prime Video) to decide when they want to put it out.” Directed by Nicholas Kharkongor, the show also stars Angira Dhar and Mihir Ahuja.
Brar is all praise for Mona Singh. “There has been a big learning with Mona,” he said. “She is such a matured actress. She is a queen of subtlety. She knows how to do it less, just as a sprinkle and how to make the most of it. She taught me a lot. The time that I spent with her on the set, there are so many things that I learnt from her. And she is very willing to share the craft. She is outstanding. She is one of the most underrated actresses that we have.”
Earlier in the year, Mona was seen and appreciated in the horror-comedy Munjya, where she played the protagonist Abhay Verma’s mother. Before that, she was praised for her act as Aamir Khan’s mother in Laal Singh Chaddha.
When asked whether he has other projects in the pipeline, Ranveer Brar revealed, “I received a lot of praises (for The Buckingham Murders). I think we are all, sort of, waiting to see what comes out next. As of now, there is nothing that I have signed. The conversations are going on, but nothing that we have signed yet.”
