EXCLUSIVE: Sajid Nadiadwala reveals why they named the film Bachchhan Paandey after Akshay Kumar’s character : Bollywood News

Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon starrer Bachchhan Paandey is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film which was supposed to release in 2020 December initially, got delayed by the pandemic. The film directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala is all set to hit the theaters on March 18.

The title of the gangster drama is named after Akshay Kumar's character Bachchhan Paandey. In an earlier interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sajid Nadiadwala had revealed the reason behind the same. "We had the story for a very long time. We were working on it and then the right screenplay came in along with the right dialogue. When Akshay started reading the dialogues we knew this character was very strong. We had to name the film after the character."

Akshay Kumar essays a completely new look as he plays the titular role in the film. Kriti plays the role of an aspiring director Myra Devekar who sets out on a quest to film a gripping gangster biopic with a real-life gangster. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, Abhimanyu Singh, Arshad Warsi, and Jacqueline Fernandez. The trailer of the film will be released on February 18.
