The popular musician duo Salim-Sulaiman talks about composing music for TV shows before making big in films.

Salim-Sulaiman is undoubtedly deserving of attention among the present Indian artists who are succeeding in the field of film music. They have given songs that quickly connect and are generally calming even while being high on the entertainment quotient. Recently, in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the duo gave a peek into their journey.

It all happened when we mentioned that this year, they will be completing 25 years in the music industry, given third first film music album was released in 1997. Upon this, Salim said, “It makes 30.”

Explaining further, Salim added, “Our first album was released in 1992, which was called Raga Raga.” As he continued, he explained that though they are about to complete 30 years this year, it still feels that they have just started.

Salim recalled, “We started doing background scores we were also doing advertising, television serials, Koffee With Karan at that time. Even now the latest Koffee With Karan.” While listing a few more, he named Khatron Ke Khiladi, and Crime Patrol, among others.

Salim also recalled when reality shows became popular. Thus, they made their presence there as well. He added that they did the music for FIFA, and for an American show, which got nominated for the Emmys. Later, they started Bhoomi, a musical movement started by the duo, and established Merchant Studios.
