With the release of Animal, the actor has garnered a lot of praise for his performance, who plays Ranbir Kapoor’s brother-in-law in the movie. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Siddhant talked about being cast in the movie, several aspects, and the controversial scene between Ranbir Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.

Siddhant Karnick said that the ‘shoe lick’ scene between Ranbir Kapoor and Triptii Dimri was unsettling but he felt like it was an interesting choice. “It was unsettling but I also felt ‘Wow! What a choice.’ It’s an interesting choice to make for a character. It is a very courageous choice to make for a director. At the end of the day, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is getting all the flak. That’s when he [Ranbir Kapoor] turned from a hero to an anti-hero for me. That’s what portrayed this man’s psycho-ness that he is good in places but he also has deep dark traits. It was a very fine line for Vijay to turn villain. It’s not easy to tread on that. I felt damn unsettled with that scene. Now, that I think about it, it makes you react.”

Animal released on December 1, 2023. The film has collected Rs. 284.05 crores at the box office in India. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film is set for a sequel, Animal Park.
