Taapsee Pannu sure knows how to balance commercial and content oriented films. While you see her doing a Judwaa 2, you will also see her kick ass in Pink or Naam Shabana and now Manmarziyaan. The Anurag Kashyap’s love story was sure an unconventional choice for any massy actor but Taapsee floored everyone and got rave reviews for her amaze performance as a headstrong, rusty, earthy and passionate Rumi. While her praise did not translate in to box office numbers she spoke to Bollywood Hungama exclusively about the right way of treating box office failure and trolling the trolls.
Manmarziyaan had smoking scenes by the leads who are Sikh. Now, smoking is against the Khalsa tradition and therefore various religious outfits made the makers cut the scene in question. Pannu was extremely witty in handling the trolls on social media post this and she said that while it is not necessary to reply to trolls on internet, it is essential to show them a mirror. She said, “If you talk to them in an aggressive way like they do, it is not fun but when you use them for entertainment, it’s fun.” She said even she can be aggressive but believes, “I can be, don’t want to waste my energy.” Talking further about the trolls she said, “They are not making sense. I just want to show mirror to them. This is what you are saying.”
She spoke about the Manmarziyaan cut too and spoke about the comment she made on Twittwer to the trolls, “After the cut I said, thank god for this cut because no other Sikh will smoke and no other woman will think of any other man in gurudwara.” She went on a sarcastic trip and said, “This movie will change the entire face of religion and will make it a perfect religion in the world. This is really how you are looking right now.”
