EXCLUSIVE: Taran Adarsh reveals the pitfalls of live tweeting; says, “I am strictly against it”

Taran Adarsh talks about trade reviews and live tweets.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, while talking about trade reviews and live tweets, renowned film critic, Taran Adarsh said, “I am strictly against live tweeting because if you are tweeting while watching a film, then it means your attention is not on the film. You might not be able to judge the film in totality”.

Highlighting the matter, he further added, “There is no issue in giving your opinion as anyway everyone becomes a critic after the first the show is out on Friday. Every individual has their opinions and we should respect that. Even though there is difference of opinions, one has to respect the opinions of others because he/she has got all the rights in to world to express their viewpoint”.

Further stressing on live tweets, he said, “Live tweeting is not appreciated as it is unfair for the film as well as the efforts that were put in making of it. A lot of journalists review films without even watching it, which is quite shocking. I think one should watch the film in totality and then form an opinion”.

“Also, I feel the journalism today is not as respected. I have noticed at times that one praises every film, every song, every trailer only so that they can bag an interview with a particular actor. If you don’t appreciate the film, the actor might refuse to give an interview. Journalists think that if you are not in an actor’s good books then he might ignore you”, Taran added.
