EXCLUSIVE: Vicky Kaushal opens up on about his engineering days; says, “I decided this can’t be my future”

Vicky Kaushal shares an experience from his engineering days.

Vicky Kaushal’s father is a veteran stunt director Sham Kaushal. But despite his dad being a known name in the film industry, Vicky was studying to become an engineer. Interestingly, it was during one of his studying days that he realized that he doesn’t want to pursue engineering as a profession.

Vicky went back to that particular point in his life during the special round table interview by Bollywood Hungama. He said, “During my engineering, our faculty decided to take us and show us a big MNC and how they function and (we were told) that this is our future and all of that. And that’s when I decided this can never be my future because I don’t belong here.”

However, Vicky was already connected to the field of acting, so it wasn’t a tough decision for him to try his hand in films. “Till then I was always active on stage; be it dancing or acting or plays since childhood,” said the Govinda Naam Mera actor.

Vicky had to struggle his way to the top despite his father belonging to the industry. After making appearances in films, including Gangs Of Wasseypur, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana and Bombay Velvet, he made his proper acting debut with the highly acclaimed Masaan in 2015. It has been no looking back since.
