According to the audience reactions and director Rohit Shetty, there is only one man fit to play Lucky in the Gomaal franchise, that's Tusshar Kapoor. There are so many surprising things about Tusshar. I expect him to be impish. In fact, he's verging on the rugged. I met the actor at his Juhu residence where he was giving some interviews to the local print media. Seated relaxed in his denims and a brown polo neck tee, Tusshar comes across as an actor who isn't shy but somewhat reserved. You come to know that once you sit with him and talk. He gives you the perfect answers but yet they seem to be incomplete. Tusshar likes asking questions and wanting to know what his audiences feel about his character more than what they feel about him as a person. There's no denying he's earned his spurs. In person, Tusshar looks every inch the movie star; a toned, rangy alpha male who parries questions with an easy drawl that is one part good ol' boy, one part good ol' man. And yet on screen there can be something low-key - even anonymous - about him. UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent gets lucky with Lucky over a deliciously chilled watermelon juice.

Tusshar aka Lucky

Shooting for Golmaal isn't monotonous at all. Every time there is some new shade to the character. Rohit Shetty gives some kind of a challenge to his actors. Yes, I do play a mute character in the film but there are new facets to the personality that make the character more interesting.

Golmaal Trilogy

I'm proud to be a part of Indian Film Industry's first trilogy. We want to make more parts and take it beyond the third part too. So Golmaal 3 isn't the end, it is just the beginning. Golmaal should be a franchise that should go on and on till people get tired of it. There will be an end one day but at the moment it's a strict no-no.

Ideas and Rohit Shetty

Rohit is very receptive to ideas and we just give it to him. Then he takes them further in his way or however he wants to. On the sets, we have fun and do not discuss what we should be discussing with Rohit. He handles the creative side of things and we just improvise as far as our performances are concerned. We give energy and then party.

Mad characters of G3

This time, every character is mad. Rohit has made each actor go through madness on the sets. I play what I play but again it's crazier. Kunal Khemu has a habit of using 'proverbs', Shreyas stammers and Kareena is a tomboy. Kareena's character in the film is called Tabu who is more like a hero than us. She has energy and an aggression like a 'bhai'. Ajay is this mad angry man who wants to break a finger. Johnny Lever is a forgetful fellow. Golmaal 3 is going to be the funniest Hindi film this Diwali. It's a firecracker.

Missing Sharman Joshi

I do miss Sharman Joshi. I was very friendly with him during Golmaal 1, whether or not professionally; I am friends with him because I have worked with him

Added advantage - Songs

Now people will go to see Golmaal for the movie. The first part of Golmaal had lovely songs. Second part too had couple of great songs which we shot. But now people are treating it as a comic blockbuster. Songs, if they work, are an added advantage. But it's the promo that does the trick. Golmaal will always be known for its characters than its music.

Mithunda's comic timings

My father has worked with Mithunda in many films. It's a proud feeling to be working with him for the first time. He is a great comic actor and sometimes you wonder that the comedy what we do is nothing compared to what they used to do back then. Slapstick is just the new name we give to comic definition but Mithunda, Rishi Kapoor, Dharmendra, my father, etc. have done that years ago. They are the inventors of slapstick comedy.

Action Replayy versus Golmaal 3

Diwali has a scope for accommodating two big films. Golmaal has become a brand compared to Action Replayy. I am not saying anything anti the other film but if both are well, both will do well. But Golmaal 3 has an upper hand in terms of its popularity with the audiences. There is a reputation that Golmaal carries with it and it's not true that Golmaal fears competition.

Love for films

Rohit has been a judge on many of the comedy shows on the television especially the Comedy Circus. I do not watch any comedy shows to brush up my comic skills or my sense of humour. I just do what I have to do on the sets to what the script demands. I watch a lot of films instead. I love Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and used to watch a lot of 'Here's Lucy' on the television during my school days. I love Borat and recently watched Tere Bin Laden which I thought was really good.

Cult comedies

Andaaz Apna Apna, Golmaal, Munnabhai and Hera Pheri are the only films that have redefined comedy in our film industry. These are the classics. Classics are very few but there are lots of blockbuster comic films. These films are cult in their own ways.

Sagar Ballary

Directors like Sagar Ballary and the many others are making comedy in their own space trying to make it funny but enacted very seriously. I am doing a film called Hum Tum Aur Shabana with Sagar which I think is another attempt in making something that is just above the regular stuff.

Ajay, Arshad and gang

Ajay Devgn knows how to enjoy and work at the same time. He is serious when it comes to work and I have learnt that. Arshad comes up with the best one liners and he is so spontaneous. He is witty and mad. I am going to write a film with Arshad Warsi for sure. He is so good. Kunal and I have done Dhol together and he is pretty good too. Ajay has done five films with me, Kunal has done two films with me, Shreyas has done four films with me, Bebo has done three films and Arshad has done three films with me.

Golmaal Charades

The Golmaal Charades on Bollywood Hungama is one of the most innovative ideas I have seen in a long time when it comes to the promotion of Golmaal 3 and my character. I went on the website the day it went live and saw it where I did acts of Sarkar and all. It's fun for the users and intelligent too. I am now interested in knowing how many users have played the game.
