Hansal Mehta, the director of the upcoming thriller noir drama starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, has shared insights about his collaboration with the actress and praised her craft. Mehta, who is known for his gritty and realistic films, said that he was impressed by Kapoor Khan's acting prowess. "She is such a good actor," he said. "It was an absolute joy to work with her."
In a conversation with Mid-Day, the director also said that Kapoor Khan will be seen in a new light in the film. "One thing I can say is you will see a new Kareena in the film," he said. “We had a very good time shooting the film. With her, it’s the same kind of chemistry that I have with Rajkummar [Rao], Pratik [Gandhi], Mohammed Zeeshan [Ayyub] and Karishma [Tanna]."
Mehta's upcoming film is still untitled, but it is said to be a dark and suspenseful thriller. Mehta's comments about Kapoor Khan's acting have generated excitement about the upcoming film. Fans are eager to see Kapoor Khan in a new and challenging role.
In the same interview, Mehta also spoke about the success of his latest web show, Scoop, which is streaming on Netflix. He said, “It gives me an added blanket of security. I know [now] that the stories I want to tell have a space, where they will be embraced wholeheartedly. I applied a lot of learnings from Scam 1992 on Scoop. [One of them is] that if you tell authentic Indian stories in an honest and engaging manner while trusting the audience’s intelligence, they can be told.”
