Actor Irrfan Khan, who was fighting a rare form of cancer for the past two years, passed away yesterday. In between, he spend months in New York, getting himself treated and later returned to India. Throughout, wife Sutapa Sikdar stood by him as the strongest shoulder, being the best caregiver that one can be.

A day after Irrfan's demise, Sutapa took to Facebook to share a photo of herself with Irrfan, along with a heartfelt caption. "I have not lost I have gained in every which way....," she wrote. The photo looks like one from recent times, which has both of them sitting and enjoying a moment of bliss.

Earlier, in a statement issued, the family said Irrfan fought bravely till the end. " Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him. After having been struck by lightning in 2018 with the news of a rare cancer, he took life soon after as it came and he fought the many battles that came with it. Surrounded by his love, his family for whom he most cared about, he left for heaven abode, leaving behind truly a legacy of his own. ," it stated.
