Janhvi Kapoor and Boney Kapoor pen emotional note for Sridevi ahead of her fifth death anniversary

On February 23, 2018, actress Sridevi passed away in Dubai.

Born in 1963, actress Sridevi ruled the hearts of millions with her impeccable acting skills and captivating expressions. However, the legendary actor passed away on February 23, 2018, a few months before her daughter Janhvi Kapoor’s acting debut. The coming Thursday will mark her fifth death anniversary. Ahead of it, Janhvi Kapoor took to her verified social media handle and dedicated a post to her late mother. Besides her, Boney Kapoor also shared a portrait of Sridevi and wrote a note for her.

Speaking of Janhvi’s post, it is a throwback picture, featuring the mother-daughter duo at an event. Janhvi can be seen lovingly looking at her mother. The late actress looked gorgeous in a cream-hued saree, while Janhvi looked stunning in a multi-coloured outfit. Her caption read, “I still look for you everywhere mumma, still do everything I do hoping I’m making you proud. Everywhere I go, and everything I do- it starts and ends with you,” followed by a red-heart emoticon.

Coming to Boney Kapoor’s Instagram handle, as mentioned above, he shared a portrait of Sridevi, and wrote, “You left us 5 years back …… your love and memories will keep us going and will remain with us forever,” in the caption.

For the unversed, Sridevi passed away in a hotel room in Dubai. She was there with her husband, Boney Kapoor to attend a family wedding and died due to accidental drowning after she lost consciousness. Her last rites were performed at Rameshwaram, and hours after that Boney Kapoor had written an emotional tribute for her. An excerpt of his tweet read, “To the world, she was their Chandni... the actor par excellence... their Sridevi... but to me, she was my love, my friend, mother to our girls... my partner. To our daughters, she was their everything... their life. She was the axis around which our family ran.”
