Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's latest venture, Jawan, has made a promising start at the box office. The film, marking director Atlee's Hindi film debut, has garnered positive reviews from both critics and audiences alike, with particular praise for its supporting cast. Amid the spotlight on the film's leads, one actor who has quietly shone is Bhutanese talent Sangay Tsheltrim, who plays a pivotal role in the movie. What sets Sangay apart is that he's not just another actor portraying a soldier on screen; he's a real-life soldier.
In an interview with ETimes, Sangay Tsheltrim shared his experience of meeting Shah Rukh Khan for the first time on the set of Jawan. He expressed deep admiration for SRK's kindness and humility, recounting the heartwarming encounter. “The moment he saw me, he shook my hand, gave me a hug, and said, ‘Sangay, Welcome on board and thank you very much for accepting the role.’ That really touched my heart. On the sets, I noticed that sir will help you to bring the emotions and your character out,” said Sangay.
Reflecting on his time working with the iconic Bollywood actor, Sangay praised Shah Rukh Khan's teaching and learning prowess. He mentioned how SRK willingly embraced suggestions from co-star Vijay Sethupathi regarding certain scenes. “What I've noticed is that sir will teach you what he knows, and he learns what he does not know from others who know better than him,” Sangay remarked, highlighting the actor's dedication and willingness to improve.
Drawing from his own army background, Sangay Tsheltrim offered insights into Shah Rukh Khan's action sequences in Jawan. He lauded SRK's prowess in performing action scenes on screen and commended his extensive experience. “We need a lot of techniques to perform action sequences on screen and on the sets. Shah Rukh sir has got a lot of experience doing action scenes. He is more experienced than I am. I saw those action scenes that he has done, and for his age, he is very good with it,” Sangay added.
Talking about the film, Jawan has scored an all-time biggest opening in Hindi with estimates in the vicinity of Rs. 65 crores, the SRK starrer is on a record-breaking spree even in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. According to early estimates, Jawan has collected in the range of Rs 8 to 10 crores, making it an all-time number one opening for a Hindi Film dubbed in Tamil and Telugu.
