What The Hell Navya, a podcast led by Navya Naveli Nanda along with Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan is a sheer treat for fans of the Bachchan family After talking about Desi parenting and the importance of female friendship, the third episode of the podcast focuses on “Comfort in Content”. The episode has its own share of fun moments, and among them, Jaya revealing why her grandson Agastya likes to watch Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham may leave you in splits.
Jaya Bachchan reveals grandson Agastya Nanda watches Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham to ‘make fun of her’Interestingly, it all started when Navya asked the two about their favourite films. In response, Jaya said, “Gone With the Wind, and all [Marlon] Brando films, On the Waterfront, and Paul Newman’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I love those old movies. In Indian movies, I prefer the old ones, I prefer Dilip Kumar’s Devdas, Mughal-E-Azam. I can watch Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham anytime. I love mushy movies."
Adding on the mention of K3G, Shweta added, “It is a film that doesn’t age. Agastya [Nanda] watches it a lot. When he watches nana’s [Amitabh Bachchan] films, he doesn’t understand them. But K3G is something he can watch over and over again.” On Shweta’s response, Jaya quickly added that Agastya watches the film only to ‘make fun’ of her in it.
Not only this, in the episode, Jaya also candidly said that she has done PhD in Turkish shows while Navya opened up about her liking “dumb” reality shows.
Coming to Agastya, he will soon commence his film career with Zoya Akhtar's movie The Archies also starring Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor. It is slated to be released on Netflix in 2023.
