Last month, we geared up to see Rajinikanth on the big screen as the superstar geared up to play the role of a good-hearted don who fights for the benefit of his own people in Kaala. Well, the reason behind that was Pa. Ranjith who directed the film. Now, Kabali and Kaala director met the Congress President Rahul Gandhi in the Indian capital, Delhi, a day ago.

Although the reasons for the same are yet to be known, the meeting seems to have gone well between the politician and filmmaker. In fact, both of them took to social media to praise each other ideologies as the duo had discussion on varied topics. Rahul Gandhi shared a few pictures with not just Pa. Ranjith but also actor Kalaiyarasan who was a part of it.

He further went on to speak about his meeting with both the Tamil personalities saying, “I met film director P A Ranjith the man behind blockbuster films like Madras, Kabali and Kaala and actor Kalaiyarasan, in Delhi yesterday. We talked about politics, films and society. I enjoyed the interaction and look forward to continuing our dialogue.”

On the other hand, Pa. Ranjith too responded to the same on the Twitter platform saying, “IMP.meeting with @RahulGandhi abt politics&art.Discussed caste&religious bias threatening d core of our secular constitution.Thks for having me over Sir.Lookin forward for our discussion taking shape.A national leader engaging with ppl from all ideologies is very encouraging!” said the Kabali filmmaker.

Speaking of Kaala, the film featured Rajinikanth in the lead role along with Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Eswari Rao, Pankaj Tripathi among others. The film is said to be loosely based on the life of Haji Mastan and was released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
