12 Years of Student of the Year

As Student of the Year completed 12 years today (October 19), Karan Johar marked the occasion by sharing a series of unseen photos from the film's set. The Instagram post included pictures with Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan, along with a touching image featuring the late Rishi Kapoor, who played a pivotal role in the film.

Student of the Year holds a special place in Karan Johar’s heart. When the film completed 10 years in 2022, he had expressed how the bond he formed with Alia, Sidharth, and Varun felt like the beginning of a family. He said, “I never knew way back then that I would have children of my own …but my first protective parental feeling was for all three of them.”

In Student of the Year, Alia Bhatt played Shanaya, Sidharth Malhotra portrayed Abhimanyu, and Varun Dhawan took on the role of Rohan. The film’s supporting cast included Rishi Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Ram Kapoor, Sana Saeed, Sahil Anand, and Farida Jalal. Beyond its vibrant narrative, the film is remembered for its youthful energy, catchy music, and the debut of three promising actors.
