Filmmaker Karan Johar recently gave a shoutout to Pakistani singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan for recreating the popular track ‘Tauba Tauba.’ The original song, composed and performed by singer Karan Aujla, was featured in the 2024 comedy film Bad Newz, starring Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri. However, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan's version, titled ‘Toba Toba,’ brought a humorous twist to the song.

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan shared his rendition on Instagram, performing the song in his distinctive style. In the video, the singer changed both the lyrics and the title, from Tauba Tauba to Toba Toba, while playing a guitar with the Taj Mahal in the background.

Though some found the video amusing, others criticised it for deviating from the original. One Instagram user commented, "Humans can sing in tune even by mistake, but here he hasn't done that either." Another remarked, "Toba Toba, you've ruined my mood." One person added, "You have destroyed the song."

Karan Aujla's Hilarious Reaction

Karan Aujla, the singer and composer of Tauba Tauba, couldn’t resist reacting to Chahat's version. He commented on the post, saying, "Uncle na kro (don't do) please," adding humor to the conversation. This comment seemed to resonate with fans, with one saying, "Everything was funny until Karan Aujla commented."

Tauba Tauba was originally composed by Karan Aujla, with music produced by Yeah Proof and choreography by Bosco-Caeser. The song is part of Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari, and produced by Dharma Productions, Prime, and Leo Media Collective.

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, whose real name is Kashif Rana, has made a name for himself through viral videos and remixes. Born in Sheikhupura in 1965, Chahat moved to London after completing his studies at the University of the Punjab in Lahore. He became an internet sensation with his offbeat renditions, including a previous remix of Badobadi, which was later removed from YouTube, much to his dismay.
