Kartik Aaryan discussed how Kabir Khan's biographical sports drama film influenced his performance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Kartik Aaryan is currently promoting his upcoming film Chandu Champion. The film is a biographical sports drama based on India's first Paralympic gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar.

When asked how all he prepared to play the character of Petkar in the movie, Kartik revealed that he became 'anti-social' while preparing for the hard job.

After filming Chandu Champion, Kartik Aaryan moved on to his next production, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which co-stars Triptii Dimri. During an interview with Film Companion, the actor revealed that he had to devote his heart and soul to prepare for the part.

He admitted that his intense attempt to modify his body to exactly depict Murlikant Petkar rendered him anti-social. Kartik said, “I was living an anti-social life. Not that I was very social before, but during this process, I was completely anti-social. And I started liking it.”

The actor further stated that this hindered his efforts in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. When he arrived on set for Anees Bazmee's next comedy-drama flick Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, he had to leave his Chandu Champion zone. He stated, “I went to Anees Bazmee’s set. As soon as I started shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa and did my first scene, I was told my energy had dropped and I needed to increase it.”

He also stated that he tried to increase his enthusiasm on set, but after a time, he felt like he was acting too much. “I even double-checked with him. Finding the right balance was tough,” he concluded.

Kartik told Zoom that when Murlikant Petkar viewed the video about his life and difficulties, he became teary-eyed. The sportsman also admitted that the actor had made him cry. He also hoped that, like Petkar, the audience would connect with the film and recognise the hard effort he had put into it. “It is a film all of us are really proud of and it is a story everybody should know,” he stated.

Directed by Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion is set to be released on June 14, 2024.
