The five days of fashion extravaganza, Lakme Fashion Week 2019 Summer/Resort concluded today. With a bevy of celebrity showstoppers walking the runway for fashion designers, actress Aditi Rao Hydari graced the ramp for designer Sailesh Singhania. Aditi lent her stunning frame to an ensemble from the Hyderabad based designer’s latest collection, Shaahanaa.

Sailesh Singhania, known for his luxury handwoven sarees unveiled his collection titled Shaahana, The Royal Glory, The collection represented the splendour of Indian royalty featuring a combination of zari fabric and silk tissue. For the designer, the idea was to celebrate sustainability, and promote 'Make In India'. The designer's muse for the collection was the fictional Queen Gulnaar of Persian legends, also the protagonist Sarojini Naidu’s The Queen’s Rival, known for her unmatched beauty. The collection comprised only 15 saris, woven painstakingly for over 8 to 12 months by weavers, crafted from khadi and fused with the traditional technique of jamdani along with Kanjeevaram silk saris and blouses with metallic hues, includes ivory, lilacs and soft purple and neutral hues, interspersed with gold threads.
