Actress Mahima Chaudhry is back in the spotlight in ZEE5’s recently released film, The Signature. Mahima plays Ambika, a long-lost friend battling terminal illness, whose chance encounter with the protagonist, Arvind, sparks a profound exploration of love, sacrifice, and the complexities of life. In a candid conversation, Mahima shared her inspiring journey back to acting after overcoming cancer, the invaluable support she received from her close friend and co-star Anupam Kher, and how The Signature serves as a powerful reminder of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.

Mahima Chaudhry passionately shared, “Cancer is a formidable adversary—it alters your physicality and personality, leaving your face swollen and changing everything about you. For me, restarting my career amidst all this felt incredibly brave. I owe it all to Anupam Kher. I can’t even begin to imagine what would have happened if this project hadn’t come along during my treatment. It brightened my life and infused me with strength and courage. Anupam helped me share my journey with everyone—he is truly kind and supportive. I was terrified to tell my parents about my condition because they are older and have their own battles to face. Anupam has been an unwavering support; it's rare to find such incredible people in this world.”

The Signature is a heartwarming story, helmed by filmmaker Gajendra Ahire, that delves into the emotional turmoil faced by those grappling with the fragility of life and the difficult choices that accompany it. Produced by K. C. Bokadia and Anupam Kher Studio, the poignant tale is the Hindi adaptation of the National Award-winning 2013 Marathi film Anumati and also stars Ranvir Shorey, Annu Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, Neena Kulkarni, among others in key roles. It premiered on Zee5 on October 4.
