Critically acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee recently offered a glimpse into his early days in the entertainment industry, highlighting the financial struggles faced by aspiring actors. During a promotional interview for his upcoming film Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, Bajpayee spoke with Cyrus Broacha about the importance of "conveyance allowance" in his early career.
"Back then, salaries were already low," Bajpayee shared. "Our biggest support used to be conveyance. We used to get Rs 150 and we used to think and plan what we would do with that Rs 150." When asked if this practice still exists, Manoj chuckled and responded, "Sadly, it's not there anymore." He further elaborated that actors used to receive reimbursement for petrol even when using their own vehicles, a perk that is also no longer offered. "Now they don't even give that," he concluded.
Speaking of the professional front, as mentioned above, Manoj is currently seen in the Zee5 film Silence 2, alongside actor Prachi Desai. Bollywood Hungama has given 2.5 stars out of 5 stating that the film “suffers due to the length and certain loose ends.” Besides Manoj, the film also stars Prachi Desai.
Meanwhile, Manoj will be next seen in Bhaiyya Ji. The film, directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, is slated to release on May 24.
