“People will love Cirkus because I have seen the film”, says Rohit Shetty : Bollywood News

The trailer of Rohit Shetty’s upcoming comedy Cirkus has generated different types of responses. This goes for almost all his films, especially if they happen to be from the comic genre. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez and is inspired from William Shakespeare’s classic play called The Comedy Of Errors.

During a magazine launch event in Mumbai, Shetty said that Cirkus is mainly targeted to a specific section of the audience. “Cirkus is for the audience who loved Golmaal and All The Best,” said the filmmaker. “It’s that kind of a film. This is for all those who loved those films. I’m sure they’re going to love it because I’ve watched the film.”

Looking back, Shetty is happy with the way people have admired his work. “When we started off, I was just a filmmaker making films. Then the kind of love I got from the audience, it became their film. So, I now make films for them, I take it as a responsibility,” he added.

Cirkus sees Ranveer and Varun in double roles as they play a set of two identical twins who are separated at birth. Interestingly, in Shetty’s Bol Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan’s character pretended as if he has a twin who looks exactly like him.

Cirkus is slated to release in cinemas on December 23.
