The most versatile actor Rajkummar Rao is set to return as his beloved character 'Vicky' in the highly anticipated film Stree 2, which is a sequel of the 2018 comedy-horror movie. The OTT streaming platform Amazon Prime Video announced recently a slate of films and web-shows on March 19, which will be releasing this year and among them was also Stree 2, which will release on their platform after its theatrical release. This announcement has generated immense excitement among fans and critics who have been eagerly awaiting this second instalment.

While Rajkummar Rao couldn't attend the event in person, his co-stars Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee were a part of the lavish event organized by Prime Video in Mumbai. During their interaction, the duo shared that the sequel is only going to bigger and better. While the prequel is based on the folklore ‘O Stree Kal Aana’ which is a reference made to a witch who visits the houses located in a remote village, in the sequel, audiences will be revisiting the small town of Chanderi years after the events of Stree, and we find that the town is being preyed on by a new threat. It falls to our ragtag group of friends, Vicky and company, to save the town once again. The shooting of Stree 2 has already begun last year.

Speaking of Stree, it became one of the career-defining films for the actors as Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee received a widespread acclaim for their fun characters. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this horror comedy is a part of the Maddock Film Universe which is being created by Dinesh Vijan and is expected to release on August 30 this year.
