Producer Jay Shewakramani compares Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character from the adaptation of The Devotion Of Suspect X with Kartik Aaryan in Freddy

Kareena Kapoor Khan will be starring with Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma in the Netflix movie

Kareena Kapoor Khan has been one of the most notable actresses of Bollywood. Hence, her OTT debut in the form of the adaptation of the Japanese novel The Devotion Of Suspect X is a keenly-awaited movie. Now, Jay Shewakramani, one of the producers of the film has added more fuel to the excitement by comparing Kareena’s role from that film to that of Kartik Aaryan in his own recently-released flick Freddy.

Speaking to the Indian Express, he said, “She (Kareena) is a fabulous actor, a thorough professional and I think it’s going to be a very interesting film. Like Kartik in Freddy, Kareena in Devotion is something she has not attempted as well. That is going to be the exciting part.”

He said that offering roles to actors they haven’t played before has been his mantra. “That’s the thing, as a producer if you want to get something on the table, it is when you go to the actor with a role that he or she has never done before and that gives you an edge for an actor to choose this film. So, my effort is always that. You go to an actor with a role that they haven’t attempted. That becomes exciting and challenging,” he said.

Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and also starring Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma, the film will be released on Netflix reportedly in mid-2023.
