Ram Gopal Varma receives his BTech degree after 37 years; says, “Super thrilled”

On March 15, Ram Gopal Varma took to his Twitter handle and shared that he has received his BTech degree after 37 years.

With films like Siva, Rangeela, Company, Sarkar and Rakta Charitra in his repertoire, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has often impressed the audience with his style of storytelling. While many know that before becoming a filmmaker, he worked as a site engineer in Hyderabad. But did you know that he received his BTech degree after 37 years? Interestingly, the renowned director himself revealed it recently.

On Wednesday, March 15, RGV took to his verified social media handle and shared a photo, featuring his degree certificate. According to the certificate, Varma had passed B Tech (civil engineering) with second class in the examination held in July 1985. Before sharing the photo of the degree certificate, the director dropped an image, in which he can be seen with a bunch of people. He captioned it, “The uneducated me with the highly educated professors of Acharya Nagarjuna University.”

Coming back to the degree post, he tweeted, “Super thrilled to receive my B tech degree today 37 years after I passed , which I never took it in 1985 since I wasn’t interested in practicing civil engineering.” He also thanked the university.

Reacting to the post, a Twitterati wrote, “Great. You are multi talented and your concentration and interest is in something else and still you have completed the same,” while another commented, “Congratulations Mr. Ram Gopal Varma garu, I am not your fan but it's great achievement.” On the other hand, a couple of netizens were also raising questions about the authenticity of the certificate.
