Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt Wedding: From yellow shimmery kurta to pink ensemble, Karan Johar quips – ‘Mid-life crisis hai to pehen liya Manish Malhotra ki sherwani’

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot on Thursday afternoon after much fanfare. The couple got married at home in the presence of close friends and family members. Amongst them was Karan Johar, who has been a long-time friend of both the actors. He was present for mehendi, haldi and wedding ceremonies.

Karan Johar posted photographs of his outfits on Instagram, designed Manish Malhotra for both the pre-wedding and the main event celebrations. The filmmaker wore a yellow and blue embroidered ethnic costume to the pre-wedding festivities. He chose a colourful kurta outfit with beautiful floral embroidery all over. On the yellow canvas of his clothing, the light-pink and blue-hued embroidery provided a delicate contrast. His outfit was also embellished with mirrors. The kurta was coupled with a lemon yellow churidaar and a light yellow store that had the same embellishments as the kurta. Karan completed his ensemble with black sunglasses, well-kept hair, and brown loafers.

He donned a Manish Malhotra sherwani outfit from his Khaab collection on the wedding day, which was entirely embroidered with silver sequins and replete with delicate thread embroidery and small mirror embellishments, while his churidaar remained plain. He completed his shaadi look with black shoes, tinted sunglasses, and a pagri. Karan Johar finished off his look with a similar pink stole that had the same embroidery as his kurta. Karan was styled by Eka Lakhani for both the events.

He shared his pictures on the instagram with quirky caption, “Shaadi Tayaar … dil me bahut saara pyaar … dhal gayee jawaani … but mid-life crisis hai to pehen liya Manish Malhotra ki sherwani! Chand Jaisi Alia Raaja humare RK! Rab ne bana di Jodi who bhi saj dhaj ke!

For unversed, Ranbir Kapoor starred in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and has been part of several Dharma Productions’ projects including Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and upcoming movie, Brahmastra. Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, made her Bollywood debut in Karan Johar director Student Of The Year. She has done several projects under his production banner.
