Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are set to become parents. The actress made the official announcement on Monday that the newlyweds are entering a new phase in their lives. As the actress is busy in London shooting for her Hollywood film, Ranbir is currently in Mumbai promoting his upcoming movie Shamshera. Ahead of the announcement, the actor had recorded an interview in which he said that he thinks he is close with kids and would love to encourage his kids to indulge in sports.
In a recent interview with Mashable India, Ranbir Kapoor was asked if he thinks he is good with kids. To which, the Shamshera actor replied, “I would like to believe I am, I don’t know if I am good or not. When my two younger cousin brothers – Armaan and Aadar were born, while they were growing up, they were like my tail, wherever I went, they followed me. They really worshipped me and so I guess I was good to them that’s why they were doing that. I have a niece called Samara who is eleven now and she a little shy, she lives in Delhi but during her growing up years, we were quite close.”
“I would like to believe I am close to children. I am the cool uncle, but I don’t like to be called uncle. I tell them to call me RK because I don’t want to give an uncle tag where there is a little bit of distance. I don’t want people to think I am old,” he added.
Speaking of children, Ranbir Kapoor said that he would like to encourage his kids to play sports as that is something that gave him some direction in life. “I always like when young children, boy or girl, are into sports, it is something that I would like to definitely encourage in my children when I have children. Especially soccer, I’m very attached to it,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, Ranbir will be seen in Shamshera. The story of Shamshera is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved, and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shudh Singh. This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader, and then a legend for his tribe. He relentlessly fights for his tribe's freedom and dignity. His name is Shamshera. Directed by Karan Malhotra, this action extravaganza has been produced by Aditya Chopra and is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on July 22, 2022.
