Saba Azad on Women’s Day, “If we had an equal world, we perhaps would not have had to celebrate it for just one day”

Saba Azad shares her thoughts on International Women’s Day.

Saba Azad, Hrithik Roshan’s girlfriend, recently opened up on getting bothered when she is valued more for personal rather than professional life. She also talked about how Women’s Day is reminder that the world is not equal for men and women yet.

Saba and Hrithik made their relationship official at Karan Johar’s 50^th birthday party last year. The two have been seen together going for dates, attending functions, dropping off each other at airports, etc.

Saba was recently questioned about if it bothers her when people value her on the basis of her personal life rather than her professional accomplishments. She told India Today, “It absolutely bothers me. For long, women have been seen as a means to facilitate the men in their lives. That is a universal phenomenon. That is a product of patriarchy. That has gone on for far too long. But I also think it is changing now. Women are in every field now and they are succeeding equally as the men.”

Saba also spoke about the social evils that women have to deal with even now. She said, “However, we are still fighting for equal pay, safety of women, women's health and so much more that haven't even been given a thought. There is dowry, trafficking, all kinds of atrocities. It is not an equal world yet and that is why we celebrate the International Women's Day. If we had an equal world, we perhaps would not have (had) to celebrate it for just one day. This is a reminder to the kind of work we should continue to do.”

On the professional front, Saba is known for her work in Sony LIV’s celebrated web-series Rocket Boys. She will be next seen in Rocket Boys 2. She will also feature with Soni Razdan in film Songs of Paradise. She is also a singer who recently sang the title track of Shahid Kapoor hit series Farzi which was titled ‘Sab Farzi’.

Hrithik will next be seen in Siddharth Anand's Fighter alongside Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor.
