On August 23, 1966, the day was doubly special as it coincided with the House Warming of her new residence at 34-B Pali Hill. Banu revealed that the house was intentionally built right next to Dilip Sahib's residence, emphasising the deep connection between the two.

Despite being shot in Madras at the time, Dilip Kumar flew to Bombay at the invitation of Banu's mother, making her birthday celebration even more memorable. Their friendship, which spanned her childhood, took a new turn during this eventful evening when Dilip Kumar confessed, "You have grown up into a beautiful girl!"
