Saturday saw the launch of the much talked about first look of the next Rajinikanth starrer Robot 2.0 While the film is already a rather big cinematic outing down south considering that it features none other than Rajinikanth. Back here in Mumbai, it has been gaining popularity since Akshay Kumar who has been on a roll this year, features in the film as the main villain.

But what made the launch extra special was the uninvited guest Salman Khan who turned up at the event. In fact, Salman Khan, who apparently was not invited to the launch event, decided to grace the function unannounced. At the event, Salman took the stage along with the star cast of the film, later talking about his surprise visit the actor added, “I wasn't invited. I heard they were doing this and I decided to come to meet Rajini Guru." Touched by this gesture, Rajinikanth later expressed his desire to work with Salman in the near future, “I would love to do a film with Salman Khan tomorrow if he says yes to doing a film with me tomorrow.”

If that wasn’t enough, at the event that was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar at Yash Raj Studios, Salman decided to take things further and question Karan as well. In fact pointing towards Karan, Salman said, "Why don't you do this kind of film?”

As for the film, Robot 2.0 that is directed by S. Shankar is a science fiction film and is slated to release in Diwali next year.
