For Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who famously doesn’t sleep much, coffee seems to be a key part of his daily routine. Tata Starbucks CEO Sushant Dash recently revealed that the Starbucks outlet at the Red Chillies Entertainment office in Khar, Mumbai, exists thanks to SRK’s love for the brand.
During an appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Dash was asked about the origins of the Starbucks outlet located at the ground floor of the Red Chillies building. It turns out, the decision to open the store was driven by Shah Rukh Khan himself. Dash said, “He is a big fan, that’s what I have heard. He wanted a store at the building, where he had that space. It’s a beautiful store and that’s his place, he is the landlord.”
Dash further shared that someone from Khan’s office had approached Starbucks, stating that the actor was very keen to have a store at the location. The partnership worked out, and the café has since become a popular meeting spot in the Bandra-Khar area.
Over the years, several of Shah Rukh Khan’s collaborators have mentioned his deep love for coffee. From filmmaker Aanand L Rai to actors like Tamannah Bhatia, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, and Alia Bhatt, many have shared stories about how coffee is a constant companion for the superstar.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next film, King, which will also star his daughter, Suhana Khan. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film is set to begin shooting in January 2025, with an official announcement expected on SRK’s birthday, November 2.
