Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has been in the headlines constantly for his upcoming film Pathaan and the controversy surrounding it. Amid this, recently, a gruesome incident in Delhi happened shocked everyone. A girl named Anjali Singh lost her life after being dragged for 12 kilometres by a car after her scooter crashed into it on the New Year’s eve. King Khan’s NGO, Meer Foundation, has donated funds so that the victim's family can manage their expenses during this tough phase.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation extends monetary support to Delhi hit-and-run victim Anjali Singh’s family
As per a report by Times of India, SRK's NGO Meer Foundation has donated an undisclosed amount to the victim's family to manage their finances in these times. For the unversed, Anjali was the sole breadwinner of the household. The report quoted a source saying, “The aid by Meer Foundation aims to help the family, especially the mother with her health issues while providing relief to Anjali’s siblings.”
Founded in 2013, SRK named the charitable foundation after his father Meer Taj Mohammed Khan. The NGO aims to bring change at the ground level and works to create a world that empowers women.
Speaking of the case, the investigation into Anjali's death is still ongoing and the family may have an extended effort before them in their quest for justice.
Coming to the professional front, as mentioned earlier, the 57-year-old actor is gearing up for his comeback film, Pathaan. The Siddharth Anand directorial, produced by Yash Raj Films, will also feature Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. It is slated to release on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Soon after the makers dropped the first song of the upcoming film, ‘Besharam Rang’. Deepika’s saffron-coloured monokini caused an uproar as many people felt the colour abused their religious sentiments.
