Taapsee Pannu recalls turning into living statue for Dunki and earning “some pounds”; Rajkumar Hirani jokes “London schedule ussi see nikla hai”

Taapsee Pannu shared an interesting behind-the-scenes story from the sets of her next film Dunki.

Adding to the already high levels of excitement for Dunki, the makers have announced a special surprise for fans. The trio of the film, Rajkumar Hirani, Shah Rukh Khan, and Taapsee Pannu, came together for Dunki Dairies, where they all gave some interesting answers on the highly anticipated Dunki and engaged in the fun banter that is sure to win everyone's hearts.

During the chat, SRK, the host, showed a behind-the-scenes photo featuring Pannu and Hirani. Taapsee was quick to remember the story behind the photo and asserted, “This was a very memorable moment. By the way, I am the one in the photo, if anyone is in doubt.”

She further continued, “I was standing as a living statue on a street with a bag below. This bag is kept open in front of the living statue to collect the money. Within 5-10 minutes, the camera was rolling and no one knew that the film was being shot. In fact, 5-10 people had put coins there. So, where we were afraid that people might get to know that the shooting was going on, there would be a little problem; we actually collected a few pounds.”

Later, Shah Rukh quipped, “Our producers were quite happy.” Meanwhile, Rajkumar joked, “We managed the London schedule expenses with that only.”

The Dunki Diaries didn't just offer peeks behind the scenes, they also gifted fans a special tribute to Shah Rukh Khan with Dunki Drop 6. This peppy track, titled ‘Banda’, introduces viewers to Shah Rukh's character, Hardy, in the upcoming film. Diljit Dosanjh's vibrant vocals paired with Kumaar's lyrics and Pritam's music create a perfect entry for the King of Bollywood's return to the big screen.

Dunki, a comedy-drama from JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, boasts a stellar cast led by Shah Rukh Khan alongside Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. Written by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, and Kanika Dhillon, and produced by Rajkumar Hirani and Gauri Khan, Dunki aims to be a cinematic treat arriving on December 21, 2023.
