Throwback: When Jacqueline Fernandez had only ‘praises’ for Nora Fatehi on the stage of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa

Before getting into the legal battle, years ago, Jacqueline Fernandez had told Nora Fatehi that she is a ‘better belly dancer than Katrina Kaif’.

Not too long ago, it was being reported that Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez are currently embroiled in a legal battle after the former sued her for defamation and accused her of ruining her image due to ‘jealousy’. However, did you know? Years ago, during the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Jacqueline Fernandez had heaped praises on Nora Fatehi for her dance performance, so much so that, she compared her to Bollywood superstar Katrina Kaif and called Fatehi a better belly dancer.

For the unversed, Nora Fatehi was a participant of the celebrity dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 9 and it featured Jacqueline Fernandez was one of the judges. The Murder 2 actress has always had words of praises for the performer and there was one of the episodes where she even called Nora ‘hot’. In fact, when the latter performed on ‘Mashaallah’ from the film Ek Tha Tiger, Jacqueline couldn’t stop appreciating her. The song was originally picturized on Katrina Kaif and the actress even belly danced in the number.

Referring to the original performance of Kat, Jacqueline had expressed her opinion about Nora’s performance saying, “My goodness! You are really hot. Your performance was extremely hot. More than hot actually, you are a good performer. You are very hard-working and it really shows. You will go very far and I am really looking forward to it.” She even went on to add that her belly dance was better than the original. Nora too had showcased her respect towards the Kick star adding, “It means a lot coming from you.”

Coming to the current situation, Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez were embroiled in a legal controversy after they were found to be in contact with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar who was arrested in Rs. 200 crore extortion case. While Nora was named as one of the witnesses in the case, Jacqueline was named as accused by the Enforcement Directorate. However, recently the actress received bail in the case.
