The theatrical trailer of Kabir Khan's Tubelight has grandeur written all over and then it has an emotional subtext that promises a roller coaster cinematic experience. Salman Khan stuns in the role of a simpleton who has no expectations from life and is awaiting the return of his brother from a war that most certainly he wasn't ready for. They who have whistled on Salman's extraordinary heroism in past movies will have a Salman that they've never experienced before. It is very clear that Kabir has reinvented Sohail Khan as he conveys a lot even without saying anything at times.

The moment Om Puri sahab's glorious voice resonates in the big theatre, it makes you sit up and take note of the great man who will always be missed by the movie lovers all across the world. Tubelight is an emotional story of two brothers with the backdrop of India-China war in 1962. The promo builds up the curiosity around the premise but the movie hopefully will delve into the politics of war. Knowing Kabir Khan there will be a message and a unique perspective on the futility of war and how common people on both sides of the border are human beings at the end of the day. The camerawork is extraordinary and so are the locales. Casting by Mukesh Chhabra promises Brijendra Kala and Zeeshan Ayyub. If Bajrangi Bhaijaan had the little angel girl then Tubelight has a little Chinese boy and he has a magnetic presence.
