Twinkle Khanna makes fun of Karan Johar during her book launch for attending birthday parties and getting paid “a crore”

Twinkle Khanna launched her fourth book yesterday titled 'Welcome To Paradise'.

Actress-turned-author Twinkle Khanna recently launched her fourth book ‘Welcome To Paradise’. Prominent filmmaker, producer and chat show host Karan Johar was the anchor at the event. The two have been childhood buddies and this was visible in the banter that was exchanged between them as Karan interviewed Twinkle.

During the course of the conversation, Karan, in his typical rapid-fire mode, asked Twinkle as reported by Indian Express, “What would you prefer, bestselling author, or a critically acclaimed one with no sales at all?” Karan was left stunned as Twinkle answered, “I want to be Karan Johar with my own show, where I make so much money, and I also go to people’s birthday parties, and they give me a crore for that.”

Karan replied, “Are you speaking to my agency, by any chance? Are they divulging details they’re not supposed to? I’ve been invited to various events, including children’s birthday parties, to play rapid fire. And I’ve accepted that invite.” Twinkle, while bringing her husband Akshay Kumar in between, said, “I think that’s really good. My husband says he’ll go for anything, including mundans.” The fun interaction continued as Karan replied, “Your husband and I think alike. I’ve been to a child’s birthday party where the child was, lo and behold, two years old. There wasn’t much of an interaction.”

The event was also graced by Akshay Kumar, Shabana Azmi, Vidya Balan, Dimple Kapadia, Jackie Shroff, Kiara Advani, Homi Adajania, among others.

On the work front, Karan’s last directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani released in July this year. Starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles, the movie became a critical and commercial success.
