Varun Dhawan is celebrating the day with full excitement as it is his dad and filmmaker David Dhawan’s 63rd birthday. As a doting son, Varun Dhawan took to his Instagram account to share a throwback picture from David’s early directing days. Not only did he post the picture, he also penned a heartfelt message for his father.
Varun Dhawan, on Thursday, wrote, "Happy birthday Pa. All I can say is I don't know anyone else who is as passionate about making movies like you. Can't wait to get back on set with u, DD NO. 1.” The photograph he shared was from 1996 hit comedy, Saajan Chale Sasural featuring Govinda and Satish Kaushik.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Varun Dhawan shared a couple of images in the honour of his dad. One of the photographs was a collage with all the posters of David Dhawan’s films from Hero No 1 to Haseena Maan Jayegi, Partner to Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. The other picture showcased Varun feeding a cake to his dad.
On the work front, Varun Dhawan will be seen in YRF’s next production Sui Dhaaga - Made in India. Directed by Sharat Katariya, the film stars Anushka Sharma in the lead and is slated to release on September 28.
