Angelina Jolie begins shoot for Maria as he embodies opera singer Maria Callas in first look of Pablo Larraín movie, see photos

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has kicked off the shoot for her next project which will play the role of opera singer Maria Callas in the directorial of Pablo Larraín. As the strike of actors ended, the shoot finally commenced on the project. The makers released the first look photos of Angelina embodying the role.

The biopic is “based on true accounts, and tells the tumultuous, beautiful, and tragic story of the life of the world's greatest opera singer, relived and re-imagined during her final days in 1970's Paris.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Larraín, who also helmed Jackie Kennedy biopic Jackie, earlier said in a statement, “I am incredibly excited to start production on Maria, which I hope will bring Maria Callas' remarkable life and work to audiences all around the world, thanks to the magnificent script by Steve Knight, the work of the entire cast and crew, and especially, Angelina's brilliant work and extraordinary preparation.”

The film stars Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Haluk Bilginer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Valeria Golino. Maria is currently in production and being filmed in Paris, Greece, Budapest, and Milan.
