BTS’ J-Hope enlists in military as active duty soldier; Jin arrives in uniform as RM, SUGA, Jimin, V and Jungkook bid adieu to second member

The agency requested fans to not crowd the official base as it was a private time for J-hope, his family and members of the group who were all present to send him off to the base.

Back in February 2023, pop titans BTS' agency BIGHIT Music announced that rapper-songwriter-producer j-hope had begun his military enlistment process by terminating the postponement. Now, the rapper has become the second member of the group to enlist in the South Korean military following eldest member Jin. On April 18, BTS’ j-hope enlisted in the military as an active-duty soldier. The agency requested fans to not crowd the official base as it was a private time for J-hope, his family and members of the group who were all present to send him off to the base.

All six members were in attendance. The photos were shared on their official Twitter account on Tuesday. Jin, the eldest member and vocalist, was seen in military uniform and is reportedly on leave. He was present along with RM, SUGA, Jimin, V and Jungkook. All of them wore masks as they bid adieu to j-hope with a caption that read, “jhope, love you.” RM shared same photos on his Instagram story and wrote, “See you soon brother.”

On April 17, j-hope took to Instagram to share photos of his new buzz cut. The caption read the same as his handwritten message as he said, “I will return healthy and well!!” Jimin also shared a photo with his group member on the social networking site Weverse and captioned it with a purple heart.

Meanwhile, j-hope released his solo album, Jack In The Box (July 2022), which addressed the passion and agony he goes through as an artist. In 2022, j-hope made history as the first South Korean act to headline a main stage at Lollapalooza. He released a new single ‘on the street’ in collaboration with American rapper J. Cole in February 2023.
