My ID Is Gangnam Beauty is getting a Thai remake with popular Thai actor Win Metawin and actress Baifern.

Popular South Korean drama My ID Is Gangnam Beauty is getting a remake in Thailand with a new title, Beauty Newbie. The series marked break-out roles for actress Im Soo Hyang and actor-singer Cha Eun Woo. The series is often recommended among must-watch rom-com in K-dramas. Now, the series is getting a Thai remake with popular Thai actor Win Metawin and actress Baifern.

The remake was announced by Thai entertainment company GMMTV as they revealed the line-up of dramas for 2023. Titled Beauty Newbie, the company unveiled the first trailer of the remake. Win will essay the role of Kairn Sayapisit whereas Baifern will portray the role of Prima Paspimol. They will be joined by the supporting leads – Great Sapol and Fah Yongwaree. It will release sometime in 2023.

Based on a hit Korean webtoon, My ID Is Gangnam Beauty is about a young woman named Kang Mi Rae who has been bullied for her looks. She gets plastic surgery hoping for a better kind of life but faces new challenges in college. She meets Do Kyung Suk, a student from her middle school days, in college as the story unfolds for her with a new set of troubles and love. The series also starred Jo Woo Ri and Kwak Dong Yeon.

Cha Eun Woo is widely popular as a member of the K-pop group ASTRO. He is gearing up for the upcoming series Island with Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee and Sang Joo. Im Soo Hyang was most recently seen in the Korean remake of Jane The Virgin called Woori The Virgin and Doctor Lawyer.

Meanwhile, Win Metawin rose to fame with Boys’ Love series 2gether and Still 2gether with actor Bright Vachirawit. He was most recently seen in F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers which was the remake of the Korean drama Boys Over Flowers and Devil Sister.

On the other hand, Baifern became popular with 2010 hit movie Crazy Little Thing Called Love. She has starred in several projects including Love Summer, Still 2, and AI Love You.
