Beyoncé has broken the record by becoming the most-awarded artist in Grammys history winning 32 trophies. The music icon has broken the record previously held by legendary Hungarian conductor Georg Solti.
The singer won awards for best R&B song, best dance/electronic recording, best dance/electronic album and best traditional R&B performance. “I’m trying not to be too emotional and I’m trying to just receive this night,” she said in her acceptance speech.
“I want to thank God for protecting me. … I’d like to thank my uncle Johnny, who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit.” She went on to thank her family, parents, husband and three children as she concluded, “I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing this genre.”

As Variety reports, two awards were given out during the non-televised Premiere ceremony in the afternoon, and she subsequently picked two more during the prime-time telecast, with three categories left to go that she was nominated in.
When her win was announced, Beyoncé wasn’t at the venue. Hence, Nile Rodgers accepted the award on her behalf. At the time, host Trevor Noah took the stage and noted that Beyoncé was on her way as she was stuck in L.A. traffic.
Once Beyonce arrived, the host handed her the Grammy at her seat in the audience. “I thought you traveled through space and time,” Noah said. With this year’s nods, Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z are tied for the most Grammy nominations ever (88 each).
Meanwhile, the award for the album of the year or record of the year went to Harry Styles and Lizzo, respectively.
