Ong Seong Wu to enlist in military on April 17; agency releases statement

The More Than Friends actor’s agency recently confirmed his April enlistment date in a new statement.

South Korean actor Ong Seong Wu will officially enlist in military on April 17, according to his agency Fantagio.

As the Korean tabloid Soompi reports, on March 16, Fantagio released an official statement announcing the actor’s military enlistment date. “While expressing gratitude to WELO (Ong Seong Wu’s fan club) who send generous love to our agency artist Ong Seong Wu, we are notifying you about Ong Seong Wu’s military enlistment,” the agency began the statement.

The statement continues, “Ong Seong Wu will begin basic military training on April 17 (Monday) at the recruit training center and then carry out his military service as an active duty soldier of the army. No special event will take place on the day of his enlistment to minimize congestion on site.”

“As the admission ceremony for the recruit training center is a private event that many soldiers and their families will be attending, we ask that fans refrain from attending.” Concluding the statement, Fantagio shared, “We ask for WELO’s warm support and love for Ong Seong Wu, who will return in good health after diligently completing his military duty. Thank you.”

On the work front, Ong Seong Wu is best known for dramas namely Moment at Eighteen (2019), Life Is Beautiful (2022) and Seoul Vibe (2022). He recently made a cameo appearance in Netflix film 20th Century Girl, starring Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Yoo Jung.
