Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is all set to release in theatres on November 17th. This prequel follows the early life of a young Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) as he transforms into the maniacal man he is now known as. As we delve into the origin of The Hunger Games, we also see new characters like Oscar winner Viola Davis’ villainous Volumnia Gaul and Academy Award winner Peter Dinklage’s Dean Highbottom, who is the creator of the inhumane games. The stellar new cast includes Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Hunter Schafer, and Josh Andres Rivera.
With an acting pedigree like no other and a portfolio to back it up, Peter forms the perfect person to take on such a complex, intricate, and vital role in The Hunger Games franchise. Speaking of his character and The Hunger Games, Peter Dinklage said, “I love the tragedy in Highbottom because he's dealing with the guilt of the consequences of co-creating the Games because it's now out of his control. The genie has been uncorked and running mad and he can't get it back in”
Peter continued by saying, “To Highbottom, Coriolanus represents his father; he looks and sounds and behaves like him, at least in my mind. Highbottom has a feeling that history is going to repeat itself, and he doesn't trust this young man and has an eye on him for good reason.”
Lionsgate and PVRINOX Pictures will release The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in theatres in India on November 17th, 2023.
