Priyanka Chopra Jonas was recently seen discussing the subject of rejection and how the reasons could be as trivial, at times.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is currently an international star and a global icon, opened up about the time she decided to move to the US and kick off her career there. For the unversed, the actress moved to the American city as a singer, and eventually bagged shows like Quantico, which brought her to the limelight. In a recent interaction, the actress revealed that she was fed up of the politics in Bollywood and was even rejected films because she was somebody’s girlfriend, which eventually pushed her to move away from the industry and the city.

In a recent podcast called Read The Room, Priyanka Chopra broached the subject of rejection and how she has learned to handle it over the years. Agreeing that it never gets easy to handle something like that, PC said, “It’s hard. Especially in a job based on validation. Whether it is how many people come and watch your movie or what your director thinks about your performance or what your casting agent thinks, it is all subjective.”

She recalled her experiences in the Bollywood industry and shared, “I have seen so much rejection in the movie industry for so many reasons. Whether I wasn’t right for the role, whether it was favouritism, whether it was that somebody’s girlfriend was cast, like there are so many reasons it happened. I made peace a long time ago. It is real. We can all say ‘I am better than that, I am confident’. It is not true. You have to allow yourself to feel the rejection. It’s like grieving. I am someone who does it. I will move on. I will brush it aside. A long time ago, I came to peace with rejection at work.”

For the unversed, Priyanka Chopra Jonas debuted in Bollywood after winning the Miss World title in the year 2000. The actress acted in Bollywood films as well as dabbled with South Cinema. But around 2014, the actress shifted her attention to New York and explored opportunities internationally as a singer. Her big acting break in the American entertainment industry came in 2015, after she bagged the lead role in the crime series Quantico.

As of now, Priyanka is juggling between two films like Heads of State and The Bluff as she has been shooting for them simultaneously in Europe.
