Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson is officially set to headline the next installment of the Jurassic World franchise. This exciting news comes courtesy of Johansson herself, who spoke to the Comic Book publication about her lifelong dream of being part of this beloved dinosaur universe.

The upcoming film, directed by Gareth Edwards, the mastermind behind Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Godzilla, promises a fresh start. Edwards will be working from a script penned by David Koepp, who interestingly enough, also wrote for the original Jurassic Park (1993) and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997).

Johansson, a self-proclaimed "enormous 'Jurassic Park' fan," expressed her sheer joy at landing the role. “It is one of the first movies I remember seeing in theaters,” she said in the interview. “I remember it so vividly. It was life-changing and mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am.”

Johansson went on to describe the script as "so incredible" and emphasized that this new story will be entirely separate from the previous Jurassic World trilogy starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Those three films, each grossing over $1 billion worldwide, cemented the franchise's box office dominance.

The actress also revealed her decade-long pursuit of a role in the franchise. “I've been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over 10 years,” she confessed. She even jokingly offered to "die in the first five minutes" or "get eaten by whatever" just to be involved.
