K-pop’s powerhouse group SEVENTEEN has made a spring-themed comeback and how! The weather outside might signal the onset of autumn, but their 11^th mini album Seventeenth Heaven is a whiff of summer freshness in this season. This mini album is the group's second release of 2023, the first one being FML in April. Seventeenth Heaven contains 8 tracks in all, including one instrumental of the title track ‘God of Music'. It was released on October 23, 2023. Woozi donned the writer’s hat once again with this mini-album whereas Vernon joined in writing ‘Monster’. Let's take a ride to the Seventeenth Heaven.

1. SOS (feat. MARSHMELLO)
Seventeen lends a message to the listeners that they will be there to help their listeners, their fans and anyone who needs help. All they have to do is say “SOS". The song ‘SOS’ is filled with static tick-tick-tick beats and a surround-sound type of a chorus. The track pumps in a dose of energy and urgency in the minds of the listener from the moment it begins. Marshmello makes his presence felt with the stunning reverb beats.

2. GOD OF MUSIC
You crooned and swooned over the boys with 'Super', now get ready for a new earworm with 'God of Music'. A dose of fresh morning wrapped in sunshine and a handful of clouds, ‘God of Music’ is a song full of life, joy and hope. Its light hearted and warm tone echoes the sheer joy of being alive and being close to one another. This fun dance number is bound to make you jump and tap your feet. One does not need language to convey emotions when you have music - this is what the group aims to tell with their song. Oh, did I mention there's a new ear worm in town? Soon, you'll be singing “Kung Chi Pak Chi, Kung Kung Chi Pak Chi.”

3. DIAMOND DAYS
Like a diamond that reflects a brilliant array of tones in light, 'Diamond Days' speaks about the brilliant reflection of a person, and in extension, their love. The track features a sonic techno mix with a splash of trap which when meshed with the shining lyrics creates a harmonious akin to Seventeen style.

4. BACK 2 BACK
'Back 2 Back' is a track signaling new beginnings. It speaks about the unwavering zeal to overcome any and every obstacle as long as the loved one is a companion and the unity is guaranteed. The funk pop music paired with stretched out synth beats enliven the atmosphere.

5. MONSTER
Which Seventeen EP is ever complete without a subunit track, or two? The rap and hip hop unit come together to create 'Monster'. The track is a perfect addition to the Halloween playlist. The imagery, the music and the lyrics paint a stellar Gothic picture reflecting the current spooky season. Despite being a shade apart in terms of music and lyrics, the underlying message in 'Monster' echoes the central idea of this EP.

6. YAWN
We see expressions like a breath of fresh air, a sigh of sadness used in songs to express but a yawn? Trust Seventeen to draw inspiration from something so ordinary and unnoticeable and transform it into something so meaningful. ‘Yawn’ is a soft acoustic track by the vocal sub-unit of Seventeen. The minimal instruments reflect the sub-unit’s artistry and present a calming picture for the listeners.

7. HEADLINER
Right from the first note, 'Headliner' is brimming with hope, love and a zest for all things good. It suits as the EP’s concluding track for it sums up the idea of the EP and signals the end of a journey as well. The lyrics emote a heartfelt gratitude that Seventeen feels for the fans. The track’s composition is an uplifting melody laced with melancholia.

In conclusion, Seventeen's latest musical offering proves their ever-evolving musical capabilities. Seventeenth Heaven is the kind of EP that you would want to listen to when you are specifically looking for an energy boost in your day. It is happy, fun, hopeful and in a way it also serves as a reminder that the cold winds will blow away soon and that spring is just around the corner. No matter what hardships one faces in life, there will always be a fruitful and good result of that hard work and resilient approach.

It won’t be wrong to assume that Seventeenth Heaven concludes the group’s storyboard for 2023. It began with ‘FML’ where the group reigned on their success and partied their hearts out and as the festivities mellowed down, they got closer to the reality and in touch with their emotions with the album. The new album is a breath of fresh air and celebration of their success.
