Squid Game star Park Hae Soo and Kim Tae Hee to make Hollywood debut with Daniel Dae Kim starrer American spy series Butterfly

Two South Korean stars Park Hae Soo and Kim Tae Hee, of Squid Game and Hi Bye Mama! fame respectively will make their Hollywood debut. The two stars, along with child actor Nayoon Kim, will join Daniel Dae Kim’s upcoming American spy series Butterfly for Prime Video. The series is based on the graphic novel of the same name created by Arash Amel, written by Amel and Marguerite Bennett, which has been illustrated by Antonio Fuso and Stefano Simeone. The series has a six-episode order and also stars Reina Hardesty.

According to Variety, the logline for the spy thriller centres on “David Jung (Kim), an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by Rebecca (Hardesty), a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him.”

Park Hae Soo garnered international fame due to his performance in Squid Game. However, he has done extensive work in films and dramas including Prison Playbook, Chimera, Money Heist: Korea, and Ruthless Operation.

Meanwhile, Kim Tae Hee is one of the most popular female stars in South Korea. She has headlined several dramas including Stairway to Heaven, Forbidden Love and Love Story in Harvard and in movies like Iris and Lies Hidden In My Garden.
