Zack Snyder teases Justice League ‘Full Circle’ Darkseid in a cryptic video announcement

Justice League director Zack Snyder recently teased a “full circle” Darkseid announcement for next month. This seemingly hints at a Snyderverse as fans refer to the interconnected cinematic universe the director planned at the initial concept for the now-defunct DC Extended Universe.

The Batman v Superman director shared the video on Twitter featuring a satellite finding “Incoming message from Lord Darkseid,” one of the biggest villains in the DC universe. The video then cuts to save the date from April 28 to April 30.

Snyder captioned the cryptic clip as “full circle,” alluding to a return to the beginning of the DCEU, which was opened by Snyder’s Man of Steel. Therefore, it’s unlikely for DC Studios' new bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran to move on with a film, with Ezra Miller's Flash movie promising to restart the entire universe.

As Collider shares, in DC canon, Darkseid is an interplanetary conqueror who ravages worlds while searching for the Anti-Life Equation, a piece of knowledge that could give him control over life itself. The Equation is supposedly connected to Earth, which leads Darkseid to fight the Justice League on multiple occasions.

The interplanetary conqueror was behind the attacks in both versions of Justice League and Snyder intended to make a crossover trilogy to explore the villain’s threat. However, as Snyder is also a prolific writer, the cryptic teaser could also mean a comic book series from him.

Meanwhile, it’s still unclear whether or not Snyder is still a part of the new DCU, but DC Comics chief creative officer Kim Lee said in July last year that Justice League: The Snyder Cut would most likely be the director's final entry in the franchise.
