Devansh: What are your expectations when you come to the radio station for interviews?
Sonal: The same old boring questions are asked to me. So I hope you will not disappoint me.
D: No, I won't because we're buddies, right?
S: Yes, we are buddies (laughs)
D: When was the first time you listened something on the radio?
S: I can't recall my first time but I do remember that when I used to go to school, my parents would be listening to the radio. There was something going on non-stop in the background. Now of course, television has taken over.
Himesh is pretty chilled out. He actually works hard
S: He is chilled out. Everybody has a very different image of Himesh before they meet him. But he is not like that at all, the monster that people make him out to be. People think he is arrogant but he isn't. He is pretty chilled out. He actually works hard. He isn't a star who comes on the sets and throws tantrums. He knows that acting is a new thing for him and he takes it seriously. Himesh is a very serious person. -

From television to a movie star via Radio. That's Sonal Sehgal's journey to date. For what could've been a dream debut opposite John Abraham, in Aashayein, Sehgal decided to move on after her first ambitious project was put on hold. The only way out of it was to take every chance which came her way. Then came Himesh Reshammiya and Radio. Job done! The all-in-one Bollywood hero had her heroine.
This new-comer's beauty is timeless and authentic. Her smile is to die for. Her voice is distinctive. She looks ordinary yet elegant. But when she talks, she talks sense and having come this far, Sonal was not to be denied. Meteoric is just a couple of days away for Sehgal, as she prepares to enthral all in her debut feature Radio. In a 'no hold barred' interview, with UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent, the actress answered questions which ranged from her first time she listened to the radio to her take on divorces today, her opinion about the society we live in to her take on the extra marital affairs, her getting attracted to other men to her getting married to a celebrity.
Step aside pretty girl because you've just struck lucky in a journey that would eventually bring wealth, worldwide respect and some awards in time to come. -

D: To whom is your film Radio targeted?
S: Radio is only meant for the intelligent movie goer because of the content of the film. The film deals with a certain age group. You'll see us talking about love and relationship in a very different manner which our parents generation never had. After a break up, the oldies prefer a closure in a relationship. Here, we guys move on to another. The mass fan following of Himesh may get a bit disappointed because they'll find Himesh in a new avatar in Radio.
Radio is only meant for the intelligent movie goer
S: I don't see any difference between a committed relationship and a marriage. The same rules apply, right? So when you break up, the same rules apply as well. The reason for the divorce rates going up is simply because the partners aren't happy with each other. They are least bothered about the stigma of society they live in.
D: Don't you care about the society?
S: End of the day, isn't a divorce or a marriage about your happiness? Then why stay in a bad marriage? There is no reason to worry about the society you live in. A better start to a life is what one wants and wants to continue.
I got married over night and nothing changed
S: In my life, nothing will change. I got married over night and nothing changed. I can only speak for myself here. My husband Naresh called me and said, "What are you doing tomorrow?" I said, "Nothing". Then he said, "Let's get married then". The next thing, we were in the temple and got married. Yes, life changed but only for better. -

D: What's your take on extra marital affairs?
S: A strict no-no. If you are committed in one relationship, you better be stable there. But if you got the urge to move to another one, then close the previous relationship and move on to your second. That's my take.
D: Have you got attracted to other men after your marriage?
S: Not so far. But I do find some men cute and handsome. Why not? I'm sure you get attracted but you're programmed not to do anything about it. I'm sure everyone finds someone attractive. But I know I'm married so why would I do such a thing?
He is taken by Bipasha. He is as good as married
S: I have the least of celebrity friends. But I can tell you that Shah Rukh Khan was my first film crush. He is the only celebrity I haven't met in person. All the rest, I've met them in some party or a social gathering or a house warming, etc. Recently, I met Adrian Grenier in New York and I froze. I felt like a fan. My voice couldn't come out. I was speechless. That's what a celebrity does to you. Marriage with a celeb is out of question (laughs).
D: What about John Abraham? Weren't you attracted to him?
S: (laughs) He is taken by Bipasha. He is as good as married (laughs). -

D: How would you seduce a man on a date?
S: I have to think over this question because it's something that I haven't done. I'd look hot, I guess (laughs). But I like men who are completely unpolished. I don't like men who are obsessed with their looks. That's a turn off for me. But I like men who smell good. A good cologne is a must. My preferred man should be wearing a Gucci or a Versace (laughs). I'd also like to add that my date should be filled with lots of laughter, good food, wine.

S: Your date going off to sleep after binge drinking. Actually it happened with me. I went to sleep on my boyfriend's birthday party because I was so tired.
D: What? Did I hear 'boyfriend'?
S: Yes, I had a boyfriend many years ago. Why? People don't have boyfriends before they get married or what? But if he was any good, he'd landed up getting married to me. But imagine going off to sleep on your boyfriend's birthday party. You can say, I wasn't interested (laughs).
D: If I was your boyfriend, what would you cook for me?
S: I love cooking. I'd cook some lovely pasta
D: No Italian food please. I want apni mitti ka khana
S: Ok, I'll have to cook some rajma chaval for you.
D: Any dream yet to come true?
S: Yes, I'd love to make a film someday on what all happens behind the scenes in Bollywood.
